Taking the bold leap to remove ‘Focus’, their quarterly magazine from print production, the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) tasked Appaloosa with transforming the publication into a highly functional digital magazine.

Utilising the supplied content Appaloosa established the user experience and navigation; created a new creative identity for the magazine; designed and developed each article on a bespoke basis; and published the magazine to the Apple App Store.

Appaloosa worked with VTR to undertake a complete re-brand of the business. The new branding encompassed the name, distinctive logo and a photoshoot to create a visual representation of the brand’s persona.

Developing on from the branding, we then designed and developed an e-commerce website bespoke for VTR as well as the creation of a series of print adverts, social media content and a programme of intense PR for launch.

Fully manage the production of a series of TV adverts to be aired on Horse & Country TV. From storyboarding through to filming and final edit Appaloosa developed a television campaign encompassing a 30 second brand advert alongside a series of 10 second product stingers.

Duncan has ridden horses since his childhood and is now a semi-professional polo player. He decided to set up Appaloosa to combine his passion for horses with his creative marketing expertise.

      Alice joined the team straight from university after graduating with a BSc (Hons) degree in Equine Studies. A self-confessed horse nut, Alice has been riding since she was 5 years old. Her practical knowledge of the equine world, friendly personality and ability to talk enable her to liaise with clients at all levels. Hence why communication is her thing!

      After an unnerving experience riding a Shetland pony bare-back, Matthew decided that a full-time occupation with horses might not be a good career choice. But design on the other hand felt much safer. But working from such a beautiful place as Midhurst with a strong equestrian heritage provides inspiration for design, and after 16 years working in this industry it still makes every day interesting. It even tempts him back onto something a little bigger than a Shetland!
